SEWING || MAMMOTH FLANNEL SHIRT DRESS - CRAFTSY SEWING KIT REVIEW
The weather may be warming up and summer on it's way, but I'm still loving flannel! I've had my eye on trying some of the Robert Kaufman Mammoth Flannel and when I got the chance to review the Mammoth Flannel Shirt Dress Kit on Craftsy I thought it would be a fun garment to sew up! I liked that this shirt dress had hem options and sleeve options - there is short sleeve, 3/4 length and sleeveless! I knew that this pattern would be versatile for year round wear and I could easily make this dress in a variety of fabrics.
The Mammoth Shirt Dress Craftsy Kit shows up in a clear plastic zip case. I really liked this because I know my order isn't going to get wet or damaged during shipping. It's also great for using for storing the pattern and fabrics while working on the project etc. Inside is your pattern and fabric (notions are extra). It's been a while since I've made a McCall's pattern so I was excited to check this one out.
The Robert Kaufman Mammoth Flannel is seriously lovely! It's butter soft and I love the plaid! I believe this print is called "Americana Plaid". I'm super excited to cut into it and start sewing! But first - a muslin. With something with a button front and my size chest I will be most definitely sewing a muslin up first ;)
I think I'm going to sew up View D or C. I can't see myself changing much except for the length. I like the look of the hem of View C better than View D for my height. I prefer an above the knee length and I think the longer dip length of D will shorten my frame. I'll let you know how it goes.
You can find the Mammoth Shirt Dress Kit HERE on Craftsy. You can also just purchase the Robert Kaufman Mammoth Fabric on Craftsy as well HERE - and they are both on sale!!! You know I love me a good sale! Craftsy makes it easy to get making and I love that about their kits!
