wow...what a week.  i'm pooped.  i have to admit it's been one of those weeks that i'm just plain worn out..lol.  i keep trying to get on top of things but alas no success.  hopefully the weekend will help me get back on track again.  i'm hoping to take my wee ones (and maybe the hubs) to the movies (when did they get so expensive - holy cow!).  we are super excited to go see "the lorax" and i have to admit i'm in the perfect mood to go see a flick and indulge in some movie theatre popcorn :)  i've also got knit night, and hopefully some time to get caught up on some work and a few deadlines.

in between all that i really think i need some time to make some lists.  i love me a good list.  when i start feeling overwhelmed, which i am, i make lists.  i need to break it all down and prioritize it all and then work my way down the list.  instead of being swallowed alive by it all it gives me a sense of accomplishment and shows me that all my hard work is going somewhere.  so bring on the lists...grocery lists, meal plan lists, chore lists, organizing lists, sewing list, knitting list, blogging list...hahahaha, and the list goes on.  sorry, couldn't help myself..lol.

what are you up to this weekend?  are you crafting?  making lists too?  is going to the movies a special treat for your family too?  has your week been a tough one? wishing you a restful, funfilled, coffee drinking, craft making, family snuggling kinda weekend.  pull up a chair, let's chat my friends <3

don't forget you can vote everyday for lil'ol me for the circle of moms top 25 creative mom blogs!  thanks for all your votes so far - you guys rock!  the voting runs until march 15th - vote for me here.

if you have become a fan of downton abbey like me you must check out this post on sfgirlbybay - super fun and oh so stylish! and this one..oh my...so funny!!!!  i'm clearly obsessed and hooked with this soap operaesque drama...just can't get enough :P

i'm planning on hopefully getting some pics of a new pattern i will have out for sale soon..so excited about this one ladies and it's sewn! yipee!  thanks to all of you who responded for being a pattern tester - i will be in touch soon if all goes well this weekend.

i'm also hoping to get outside for some fresh air and exercise.  now that my back is getting better (slowly but surely) i'm trying to get back being active again.  life is busy though and it's been a juggling act to fit it in that's for sure..lol.  i'm also going to enjoy my knit night on saturday.  i'm on the sleeve of my rocky coast cardigan and refuse to work on anything else until i get this cardi done and can wear it.  i'm possessed.  lol.  of course in the middle of all that i'm gonna steal my hubby for some good ol' cuddles and some play time with my wee ones.

what are you guys up to?  what crafty goodness did you get into this week?  any plans this weekend?  you sipping your coffee yet?  wanna chat?  wishing you all a fresh, fun, crafty, humerous, and restful weekend :)

and that this nasty stomach bug leaves our home once and for all.

so sorry for the quiet week this week. this darn stomach bug that has invaded our little house has really taken a toll on this mama.  2 upcoming tutorials have been put on hold amongst a few other projects i have on the go.  the worst thing for me when i'm ill (besides trying to take care of the kidlets & of course, being ill) is knowing i can't work on them.  i swear i hear them calling to me.  i live in a condo so i can't escape them...my quilt is on the wall begging to be squared up and sewn, i've got two patterns to finish drafting that are almost sewn, 3 sweaters & a pair of mitts to finish knitting, among a gazillion other goodies i have to get done.  any of you get the same longings when you're sick?

this weekend i plan on resting, resting and more resting (i've been in bed before 9 every night-it's a record in this house).  mixed in with finishing up those 2 tutorials for next week, hanging out with my knit night gals for some good laughs, cuddling with my hubs and playing a fun filled match of junior monopoly with my wee ones.  oh how we love junior monopoly in this house.  it's so fun to be able to play one of my fave games with my oldest now.  it's great for their math skills and boy oh boy do we get competitive in our house. it's a good time.

i'll be catching up on my inbox soon so for those of you awaiting emails from me i'm so sorry that i'm so far behind.  it's gotten the best of me while i've been under the weather.  i'm wishing you all a sunny, fun, game & crafty projects filled, cuddles galore kind of weekend.  thank you for all of your kind messages and emails this week.  i <3 you guys.

what are your weekend plans?  what crafty projects are you trying to finish up?  what is one of your favorite board games to play with your wee ones?

p.s. don't forget to get your entries in for the charmstitch fabric giveaway - some lovely fabric goodies to be won!

weekend wishes

to say our goodbyes to a loved one.

img src: susannah conway
we will be spending this weekend remembering my husband's wonderful grandmother as we honor her and attend her memorial.  she passed away 2 weeks ago and she will be and is dearly missed.  i had planned on doing a normal weekend wishes but it just didn't seem to come out that way.  i found this image and thought...that's the one and left it at that.  it's peaceful, serene and benches are where i do a lot of deep thinking in my life.  i always seem to find one somewhere and they are usually in a beautiful setting just perfect for reflecting on life and what's important in them.  so i only thought it fitting to post a picture of one today.

we had to have a talk with mack about what happened to her great grandma and explain the situation as she is coming to the service on the weekend and we wanted her fully prepared.  we also thought she was old enough to understand some of the basics of what happened and we didn't want to have her asking about great grandma and not knowing what had happened.  she seemed to handle it all pretty good, better than i did in fact and seems to be happy in the fact that we told her that great grandma will always be in her heart and she can think of her whenever she wants to and feel her close to her.

teaching a child how to grieve or say goodbye is new to us.  we have been fortunate in our lives to have not lost too many loved ones so this is all a learning experience for us to go through with our children.  i'm not sure if the finality of it all has sunk in to mackenzie but she seemed to grasp the concept that great grandma was sick and is now no longer with us.  she asked to bring a flower to the memorial so she could say goodbye.  sweet little thing she is.  brings tears to my eyes.  i feel so blessed to have gotten to know my hubbies grandma as she was a wonderful woman.  i also feel blessed that the sewing desk that i sew on everyday was hers and was given to me by her.  i think of her often while sewing and have some of her old patterns and a notebook with her handwritten notes/patterns in.  i will treasure them always.

i'm wishing you all a very peaceful and reflective weekend filled with your loved ones.  happy creating and making and i'll see you on monday :)

anyone have any tips to share on how to talk to children about the passing of a loved one?  how to handle the service?  or what you have done to help them deal with the situation?  what are your weekend plans? what are you all up to?

p.s. have you entered the glerup slipper giveaway yet?  seriously..don't miss this one...the best slipper ever!!

so excited it's the weekend! woot woot!  i've been missing the hubs like a school girl.  it was so nice having him home and i really found the transition from the holidays to real life tricky this year.  i can't seem to get back on my regular sleeping schedule.  i keep staying up way too late at night watching bad movies and knitting..lol.  needless to say i definitely need coffee in the morning :P

i got some happy news from my physiotherapist this week....i now get to try to do a few things without wearing my belt 24hrs a day!!!! woot woot!  closet here i come! i've been wearing the same 3 shirts the last few months to try to cover the horrible contraption and all the "rolls" that come along with it.  i've been enjoying the few hours a day now where i can wear my normal clothes and feel like i lost 20 pounds..lol.  i can't do too many things yet but i am able to sew in small amounts and i am allowed to walk again.  exercise here i come!  it's gonna feel so good to be able to get out moving again.  it's been way too long since i've been able to walk around/stretch and do anything involving exercise.  i have to baby my back and still take it easy but it also means i'm on the way to recovery! yippee!

i will be whooping it up at knit night this weekend.  i haven't been able to go for like a month and i have BAD withdrawal.  i cannot wait to see my ladies and have a night out with some good laughs, chats and of course - knitting.  we'll also be working on some more early spring cleaning in our house that didn't get finished over the holidays and spending some time playing some games and having fun.  i've got some more goodies coming your way next week as well as the announcement of our next knit along! so stay tuned!

i'm wishing you all a wonderful weekend filled with blue skies, coffee, family and lots of good times!  what are you up to this weekend?  what did you get crafting this week?  any good news that you've received since the new year?  let's chat...it's friday!

weekend wishes - christmas edition!

that you all get to enjoy the pretty christmas lights in a whole new way...

that you eat lots of yummy guilt free treats and goodies over the holidays...

that the grinchies stay away from you and yours...

that your wee ones can handle a bit of sugar better than my little reindeer can...

that you let yourself get lost in the magic of the holidays...

that you got some handmade decorations done with your wee ones...

and that santa's elves come and clean up all of our ironing board monsters before christmas morning.

it's almost here!!!!! christmas is right around the corner!!! woot woot!  bring on the food, the friends and the family - we're almost ready!  i can't wait to see my babies get lost in the christmas excitement this year.  mackenzie is really into it this season now that she is older and harper is even more excited as it's all pretty new to her still.  it's gonna be fun and i think i'll be the most hyper one on xmas morning.  i love me some christmas morning!  we're gonna have the music playing, stockings to open, handmade goodies to share, a big breakfast to eat and some snuggles and playing to be had.  weeeeeeeeeeee!

i'm going to be hosting two big dinners and a brunch so cross your fingers for me that my cold magically disappears, my house cleans itself, the food cooks itself and fun is to be had all around and i'll wish the same for you :)  wouldn't that be an awesome xmas pressie?

this momma will also be taking a break peeps.  i won't be here much for about a week.  i'll prolly be back on the 4th of january. i'm taking some much needed time off (the boss ok'd it..lol) to spend some time with my hubs (who is also off) and the kidlets & maybe, just maybe get some rest.  i  may pop in with a pic or two but we'll see :) what i can promise is that 2012 is gonna kick butt! i can't wait!  i've got so many exciting things planned that i cannot wait to share with you all!  i also can't wait to see all the fun and inspiring things you are all going to be creating, cooking and writing about this upcoming year as well!  so much fun awaiting us all!

thank you to each and every one of you for being such a wonderful and amazing group of people.  you all fill me with joy, strength and happiness each and everyday and without you i would not be here in this little neighbourhood of mine doing exactly what i love - so thank you.  i'm wishing you all a super wonderful holiday season and a very merry christmas with your family and loved ones!  happy new year's and i'll see you in 2012!  now go sip some egg nog and get your xmas mojo on ladies! much luv....xoxoxoxox

it's been a long week.  i''m hoping my little girl get's over her cold soon and feels better and we're also super excited that the hubs will be done his schooling for a bit.  i cannot wait to have him around more just in time for xmas.  i will be battling google adsense this weekend like nobody's business - they seem to think my account should be disabled due invalid activity. i appealed and they denied my appeal.  i am forever banned.  hello? since when did traffic from a wonderful company promoting me in their holiday newsletter become invalid activity? seriously. and of course there is nobody to speak to, nobody to help me or to ask questions. typical google. why am i not surprised. unfortunately they are a source of income for me that my family depends on and now it's gone.  everything they owe me.  merry xams. ho, ho ho.  jolly times.  but i digress...i won't be giving up, at least not yet.  i don't think it's fair so i will rant my little head off till someone out there in the big ol'google world helps me out & reinstates my account.

in the meantime i'm trying to stay chipper and focus on the happy things about this time of year.  my family will be in town soon and lots of good times are ahead.  i'm feeling thankful for what i do have and hopeful that 2012 will be my year and yours as well.  thank you for all your support this week my lovelies and i'm wishing you all a wonderful, special, eggnog filled, xmas tree loving, holiday music and family laughter filled kind of weekend.

what are your plans this weekend?  do you have any special weekend wishes you want to share? coffee's on and i'm always happy to chat!  c'mon..pull up a chair....it's friday :)

it's the weekend peeps! yippeee!  i'm in full crafting mode around here.  knitting on the needles, hand stitching projects galore - cross stitch/quilting/sewing, and even crafts (pics to come next week)!  i'm on fiiiirrrreee!  love it.  it's all been fun so far but i felt myself slowly adding more to my list this week so i might have to chop chop that sucka a little bit.  i still have to address/label/mail my xmas cards and a few other xmas to do's in between all that and yep, there's backing to be done as well.  i'm also way behind on my xmas shopping due to my back.  it's gonna have to be done in one big power shop me thinks.  i'll don my shopping armour (a starbucks), put on the comfy shoes, leave the hubs with the kidlets and go battle the mall!

i've also been really die hard longing for my sewing machine this week.  so many ideas, so many projects in blog land begging to be made.  it's killing me..haha.  i cannot wait to be reunited with poppy.  she will forgive me i hope.....anyone else missing their sewing machines or am i the only kooky one?  in between longing to be able to sew again i've also got a soon to be 19mth old really being keen about the potty issue.  she wants to go on the potty and has been showing strong signals she wants to start the process so we are on the hunt for a potty.  i need your help though since it's been a while for me.  what are your fave potties to use?  do you go from stand alone potty to on the toilet potty or do you skip the floor one and just shoot straight for the toilet top one?  i'm worried she is too small to go on the big potty.  she's tiny.  so maybe small potty then big potty on toilet? oh my...too much potty talk...i digress...lol.

we've got a bday party, grocery shopping, xmas party (for the hubs) & late night crafting for me, decorations to be made & hung, and some good times to be had really soon. the hubs exam is next friday so we're counting down the days!  what are you folks up to?  any fun plans?  what have you been busy making?  fill me in on your week ladies!

p.s. stay tuned for a special guest post from me over on "made" tomorrow also don't forget to enter the fab "shwin designs pattern giveaway"!

just popping in quickly to say hi to all of you and that i'm missing being here.  i've been resting as much as possible for my back and my mom/dad are here now to help take care of the kiddos for me so i can get better and not be so gibbled.  it's been so nice having them here and it means the world to me that they came to help our family out.

i plan on spending my weekend resting...hating the belt that i have to wear 24hrs a day but also being thankful that it's helping me....cozying up with my kids....knitting & dreaming of sewing...looking through all of your lovely "carefree cowl knit along" pictures and also honoring those who have fallen that served our country for "remembrance day" here in canada.

i'm wishing you all a healthy, happy, crafty, warm, cuddle & coffee filled weekend.  come on over and visit...the coffee is on and i'm dying to hear how all of have been and what your weekend wishes are..xoxoxox.

ok, so i seriously think 2011 has been a pretty crappy year for me health wise.  honestly.  poo poo..stinky year.  here's hoping 2012 more than makes up for it.  my head is just starting to feel better from my concussion and now i have a sprained lower back.  i'm hobbling around in pain like an old lady.  i'll spare you my misery except for the fact that i think i have to finish the weaning of my youngest so that i can actually take something to help.  i don't know how much longer i can go with just ice/heat and some tylenol.  anyone have any tips for me?  i blame it on my "girls" and my overhang...lol.   the weight of my breastfeeding tatas mixed with all the goodies the c-section & my other surgeries have left behind has just left me..with let's just say..a few extra post breastfeeding pounds to lose and some serious back strengthening exercises to be done. can i start my new years resolutions early? lol.

we're also working out a pretty bad case of "i need a night light", "i'm lonely", "there's a monster in my closet" blah blah blah from our oldest.  whatever excuse she can think of she'll use it this week.  the kiddo is waking up like 10 times a night and refuses to sleep alone.  i finally brought back the night time music with the visualization/relaxation kids music on the ipod and she passed out..thankfully.  so we're hoping this weekend we can combat the sleep issues.  i'm donning my "this momma's gonna kick those sleep demons ass" hat :)

i'm also hoping my back will let up a bit soon so i can get some serious sewing done.  i know a lot of you have been missing all my sewing and believe me, it's not by choice.  it's still been hard to sew with my head but now it's even harder with my back hurting.  i do have a tutorial almost ready to go and 2 other ones in the works...so stay tuned.

i'm wishing you all pain free, sleep filled, cozy, warm, fun, relaxing, cuddles galore, red starbucks cups sipping kinda weekend.  what are you up to?  are you dealing with any sleep issues?  back issues?  let's chat and fill me in on your week.  i love hearing what you are all up to :)

it's a pretty craft filled weekend wishes this week ladies.  that's because my upcoming weekend is bursting to the seams with handmade goodness!  i love it when that happens :)  i've got my 2nd lesson on "poppy the pfaff" and knit night tomorrow and then on sunday i have modern sewing group! can we say yee haw!!!!  i have a big list of to do's so all this crafting this weekend will hopefully allow me to cross a few goodies off my list.

i also have a goal of snuggling up on the couch one night to watch a movie with the hubs.  sounds silly but i am quite determined to make this happen.  with the hubs studying and me blogging at night it makes it hard to turn off all the other electronics and just enjoy a movie together.  so i say bring on the rain, i'm turning on the fireplace, making happy hot chocolates and curling up with my best friend for some laughs :)

what are you all up to this weekend?  what did you get crafted this week?  are any of you as starved for privacy in the bathroom as me?  have you made some headway on your xmas pressie making?  wishing you all a snuggly, comfy and happy weekend :)  come chat :)

to finally finish getting the pics for a long overdue tutorial.

it's friday! woot woot!  keeping this one short and sweet ladies.  i got some serious crafting to do.  i'm wayyyyyy behind on my sewing.  still haven't touched my sewing machine since the concussion.  the poor thing has been sorely neglected.  so don't worry all you sewers out there, the sewing is coming i haven't tossed it aside to take up only knitting.  i've got a few tutorials coming your way.

the hubs starts school again so our rest is over.  i've gotta make the most of this weekend before we get super busy again.  i'm also hoping to pick up some new yarn lovelies at a sale this weekend in town.  i'm so excited to go to knit night to see my girls.  we didn't have a meetup last weekend and boy did i miss it.  we've also got plans to watch mackenzie at her soccer game, snuggle up inside with a good movie, eat some yummy goodies and maybe hit up the pumpkin patch :)

what are you guys up to?  any crafting you're overdue on?  any special goodies you're splurging on this week?  what are your weekend wishes?  you know i love hearing em' - come share!  wishing you a wonderful, comfy, cozy, laughter filled weekend :)

and to get caught up on my sewing.

hi you guys.  just popping in with a quick weekend wishes.  i've missed you all this week and i've missed poppy the pfaff.  i haven't sewn since last friday :(  it's killing me.  i have been knitting a ton though so that's been fab and very relaxing.  thanks for all of your well wishes.  my head is still hurting and i'm still not feeling that great but my doctor said that post concussion syndrome can take anywhere from weeks to months before you start to feel better.  here's hoping it will be sooner than later for me.

i'm dragging myself out to knit night come hell or high water.  i missed last week and i need it bad.  it's been a very, very hard week taking care of the kids by myself while the hubs has been studying for his exam today all while recovering from a concussion.  man oh man what i wouldn't give for a nanny..haha.  i have to admit going to bed early has helped me catch up on some much needed sleep though.  y'all know i'm a late night blogger :)

i'm hoping you all had fab weeks and wishing you all an equally as fabulous weekend filled with sewing, knitting, yummy treats, cozy fall breezes, cuddles and laughs.  looking forward to catching up with you all next week.

what have you been crafting this week?  any new projects on the go?  what are your weekend wishes? come share, it will help me ignore the construction workers drilling concrete outside my window....sooooo loud :(

weekend wishes

to get my quilt done and ready to bind...

to eat these...

that this isn't wasn't me to a tee...

to feel the fall breeze...

and to get my pile of magazines read.

weeee...it's the weekend! well, kind of a weekend for us.  the hubs will be around on sunday so i can whoop it up at my modern sewing group!  i love these crafty weekends.  the last weekend of every month is like a mini xmas for me.  knit night on saturday and then modern sewing group on sunday for 4 hours! it's like a dream.  i have to pinch myself sometimes :)

i'm pretty burnt out this week.  feeling a tad overwhelmed by my home to tell you the truth.  i'm still purging and rearranging and trying to streamline everything to make it as easy as possible to stay on top of the chores.  i feel like i'm losing the battle still but i'm getting my fight on..haha.  i've decided not to let the laundry monster win.  we are going to be in this place for a long time yet and i've got to make the most of the space we have...it's not a lot but if i'm creative i think we can make it work.  the hard part is it takes time to do all this organization and let me tell you...time is one thing i already don't have enough of and family time and sewing/knitting always come before chores in my book..haha.  that may be a fault, but hey...life is a lot more fun than cleaning :)

i keep trying to get pictures of some of the most gorgeous yarn i have ever had in my life but the pics just don't do it justice.  honestly.  the color is to die for!  it's the richest, brightest, loveliest turquoise you have ever seen!  the yarn is by sweet georgia (a vancouver artisan yarn company) and it's tough sock love in colorway saltwater.  felicia's yarns are to die for & the colors...scrumptious!!!  i'm using my skein for part of the "rae knit along" by jane richmond.  one of my current fave patterns...it's so addicting i tell ya.  yep, i'm nuts and doing a knit along and organizing my own in the same month..haha.  i'm gonna be getting my knit on and then happily rockin' my turquoise rae around town :)

i'm also busy working on a few more tutorials for you as well as a few patterns i may be releasing this year! exciting!!!  in between that i have some sketching to do, catching up with an old friend, hanging with my knitting & sewing ladies, snuggling the hubs (when he's home), hanging with my wee ones and hopefully, hopefully, hopefully, gettting a bit of rest....cause lord i could use it :)

wishing you all a wonderful, crafty, fall weather filled, warm pumpkin spice latte, cozy snuggles, family filled weekend!  what are you up to?  i can't wait to hear your weekend wishes...comment ladies...it makes my day to hear what you've been up to :)

and to find or make some baskets to help clean up my clutter.

TGIF! woot woot!  it's friday, it's friday!  i'm so happy it's the weekend.  i'm pooped and miss my hubby.  we're on the heel of exam time so studying is amped and he will be gone most of the weekend as well but we're going to make the most of the time we get together.

i may attempt to continue our diy project with painting the other shelf, my desk, my chair and an end table...not all this weekend though..i'm not that caffeinated..haha.  but i do need to get it done.  i also am still purging, organizing fabric and thread, rolling mini bolts and doing a serious clean.  fun right? not.

i am looking forward to though pumpkin spice lattes, lots and lots of knitting, less time with my f*&king seam ripper (damn that seam ripper), sewing that will produce 2 tutorials for you all, snuggles with my babies, cuddles with the hubby, good tv, and warm blankies :)

what are your weekend plans?  any organizing going on?  any coffee drinking..lol?  tell me your wishes...i love hearing them :)

and to get back to doing this regularly...it's been wayyyyyy too long jiggly bits :P

it's been a weird week around here.  the hubs was off work on monday and is again today...thus the late post.  i'm trying to regulate our schedules to work for the baby's nap (i'm sleep training her a bit right now), mack's preschool, play dates, work, the hubs, chores...and well...life.  i don't think i'll ever get it perfectly scheduled and hey, who am i kidding, some of the funnest moments in life are the unscheduled ones, but i do know that in our house we all work better on routine and schedules.  especially me.

this weekend is supposed to be hot, hot, hot!  we had some hot days this week that i have to admit bummed me out a bit.  i'm not much for really hot weather and especially not one for it when i just started to get my jiggy on with the pumpkin spice lattes.  i mean c'mon weather, i had just broke out my sweaters and dare i say fall clothes & boots.  i started looking at them longingly, like old friends, remembering the joy in being able to cover up my body in cozy sweaters and warm boots.  thus the need to get back into shape.  the time has come.

the hubs and i have been seriously slacking on our fitness lately.  having the new baby and trying to work as much as i do for the blog has left this momma zero time to do anything else but i realize what an important part of my life it is and that i have to just make the time.  that overhang is not gonna get itself gone i tell ya as much as i tell it to f*#k off on a regular basis.  so i'm embracing the cold weather months with being able to run outside again without sweaty boobs hanging out everywhere and being mad that i can't run in tight shorts and a bra like the other super mommas who sprint around flaunting their post baby 6 packs.  it's enough motivation to me right there to get off the couch just so i can chase them down and ask them how the heck they do it and could they share their secret with me.

so for this weekend i'm going to try to get some me time in, hang with my knitting gals to the wee hours of the morning, spend some fun times with my family, sew, sew, sew, knit, knit, knit, takes some photographs with the hubs (cross your fingers we don't kill each other come monday) and just relax and enjoy!

what are you all up to?  do you have any new fitness goals for the fall?  should we all take down our jiggly bits together?  any fun plans?  let's chat!

and to get some more time to organize my little sewing space and sew in it :P

it's a long weekend this week in canada!  woot woot!  i may or may not be here on monday, i'm feeling the need to just take the day to relax, unwind and spend some time with the fam while we actually get the hubs at home.

mackenzie is starting preschool this upcoming week and needless to say i am very, very excited about that.  she missed it and so did i.  what i did not miss though are the early morning rushes to get both kiddos and myself ready and out the door on time.  that is going to take A LOT of coffee and time to get back into a good routine again.  here's hoping harper's naps don't go all nuts and this momma can get some much needed blogging/creating time in :)

i missed knit night last week and boy oh boy am i dying to make it out this week.  i need to get my kal project in and i miss my girlies.  i've also got 3 other knitting projects in the works that desperately need to get finished asap as well.  who am i kidding...lol....there just seriously needs to be more hours in the day....honestly, sometimes i think this motherhood thing is like a big reality game show that we don't know about that's a race to see how much one person can accomplish/organize/parent/clean in one day all while staying sane, dirty diaper free and not losing their marbles.  i mean really...i've been pooed on so many times in my life already...

anyways..i digress.  i hope you guys have a wonderful weekend filled with cozy yarns, yummy knits, delicious, warm coffees galore, friends, family, laughter, fun and most of all...SLEEP :P

what are your plans this weekend?  any wishes you want to share?  i love hearing what you guys are up to and what you've got planned.  see ya next week :)

weekend wishes

that coffee could cure my endo.

short weekend wishes today ladies.  mama's dealing with a bad endo day today (just in case you don't know i suffer from endometriosis for which there is no cure).  i'm getting by but just not in the shape to do a weekend wishes.  i have to admit when i have some bad endo days i'm just not in an "optimistic mood" and because i strive to keep things real in the mommyhood i share the good and the bad days with you all.  today is a bad day so my weekend wishes would prolly be ugly to look at..lol and maybe a tad fake cause i would try to make them look pretty for you all and one thing i'm not is fake.

my house is a disaster.  like seriously a disaster.  i have now resorted to using my one of my kids toys to store my clean laundry in..haha.  i know, i know, but hey...it's clean right?  the carpet is horrible, but the thought of pushing the vacuum when you are in pain and not wanting to move doesn't appeal to me at the moment.  i just hope the baby doesn't eat too much food off of it..lol.  the kitchen floor is just ewww....and my bathroom...well, we'll just leave that one out of it..haha.  i'm sure there are some of you out there who can relate right?

thing is i love a clean house.  i like my crafting area to be organized and tidy.  i think, work and create much better in a spick/span environment but every time i get it all cleaned up an hour goes by and i'm back at square one again :P  aiayayaya.  such is life right?  harper's cutting a whack of molars and her nose is a human faucet so she's cranky and not sleeping good and for some reason because she isn't mackenzie has decided she "is lonely" in her room and coming into ours every hour or two.  needless to say i'm about done with that.  i'll be nipping that in the bud this weekend.  kid is tricky.  i have to outwit her constantly.

today she was eating a snack that came in a little bag and she knows she's only allowed one so instead of getting one she got 2 (without me knowing) opened 1 and dumped it into the other bag so it looked like she only had 1 snack.  who does that at 4??? seriously??  she even hid the evidence and tried to deny it.  said it came like that..hahahaha.  oh man, kids.  i only wish it didn't hurt to laugh right now.

so this weekend i've got knit night tomorrow (to finish my KAL hopefully) and our modern sewing group at the fab "satin moon" on sunday! i'm so excited for that.  it's keeping me motivated right now so i can get a good chunk of my quilt done when i'm there.  i'm aiming to get all the quilting for the top done on sunday.  3 hours of kid free sewing bliss for mama.  yes please :)

i'm wishing you all a restful, happy, healthy and fun weekend!  what are you up to?  sounds like you have all been busy bees crafting on the FB page!  i love chatting with you all on there - so fun!  what things are you doing "for yourself" this weekend?  let's chat girls!

weekend wishes

to eat a ton more of my greek salad...yum!...

to have a wonderful nap...

to have coffee with you...

and to remember this when i am wayyyyy overtired..which i'm pretty sure is everyday :P

our weekend is going to be filled with quite a bit of driving but not the fun kind.  i try to make it fun, but hey, an hour 2 times a day in the car for the kiddos isn't always an easy thing, especially if the destination isn't an exciting one.  the hubs has school all weekend which means we have to eat & get out of the house before 7:30am (or he doesn't buy me starbucks..lol) drive him to school and then do the same thing later in the day to pick him up as well as all the other outings we make in the car that day.  i'm not complaining, he needs a ride and it's his car too, but after 3 days of this schedule i just want to laze in bed and not drive my car...lol..  i make lots of the kids fave playlists for the ipod so we have lots of fave music to groove along with to take their minds off the time spent in the car and of course, missing their daddy.

by the way, totally off topic, i figured out starbucks next marketing venture...to make cologne that smells like their brews..lol.  jer has been studying at night at starbucks (i'm jealous) and when he comes home i swear i froth at the mouth.  as soon as he enters the room i smell their coffee.  it's the most delicious scent and it's even on his clothes.  i tell you if you are a die hard starbucks fan like me it's a VERY good thing when the hubs smells like starbucks..hahaha.  it's hilarious!

we've also got plans to hit up a new fibre festival in town called "fibrations".  all you folks living in or around victoria come on down!  it's sure to be tons of fun and will be held at the st. anne's academy orchard with lots of vendors, goodies for sale, auctions and demonstrations!  i cannot wait!  there will also be live music and entertainment.  i mean really, c'mon people, if you're into fibre arts whether it be knitting, spinning, weaving, crochet etc. this is THE place to be on sunday :)  you can learn more about this awesome event on their website or facebook page.  hope to see you there!

in the midst of my driving & hanging out at fibrations i need to seriously get some knitting time in as i still have one sleeve and all my ribbing for the sides and neck of my sweater - eek!  i also am working on about 4 tutorials for you guys - another eek..that i cannot wait to get done and show you!  there's also some exciting news i have to share in the next week or so that you guys will all think is fun too...so stay tuned :)

here's to hoping we all get lots of sleep, kick our colds, have lots of laughs, cuddles, crafting time (without kiddos) and warm sunny weather to bask in :)  happy weekend wishes ladies!  see ya on monday!

what are you all up to this weekend?  are you heading to fibrations?  any special crafting projects you hope to get time on this weekend? yippee it's friday!

weekend wishes

to make a giant placemat...

to finish my unfinished projects...

to get my hands on some of this wasabi washi tape fabric...

to have coffee and knit here...

to figure out what i did to my new machine so i can continue to do this...

and to get some beach crafting time in.

yes, you read that right above, my machine isn't working.  i did something to it and don't know what :(  i'm very stressed...lol.  with my old devil i could open it up and look to see if some thread is jammed but with this one i have no idea what to do. i was just happily sewing along and then error message on the screen and it won't sew now. all i know is that i'm just waiting for my dealer to open to call and cry for help :)  worst part was i was sooooo close to being a done a fun project for sewing with knits monday.  here's crossing my fingers i didn't do anything too bad to it.

our weekend is going to be pretty low key.  the hubs has a fun weekend planned (sans the girls & i) but that's only fair seeing as last week i had a few breaks from the kidlets.  so the girls and i will be laying low, relaxing and hopefully attempting to hang at the beach again.

if my poor poppy gets fixed i will be fully immersed in harper's quilt.  i'm obsessed with it now that i am loving the quilting design i decided on.  i just want to sit there and get it done.  anyone else working on a project like that?

wishing you all a project finishing, happy crafting, sunshine filled, coffee fueled, family fun & laughter kind of weekend :)  what are your plans?  what are your weekend wishes?  you know i love hearing about what you are all up to.  comment below...
