It's been a while since I showed some of the newest additions to my fabric stash! The lovelies below from Art Gallery Fabrics could not be resisted! They were definitely must haves!
The first line I had to have in my stash was Wanderer by April Rhodes. I got the whole shebang in fat quarters. I think they may just end up being a quilt. I have an urge to make a slew of quilts this year. Now that we are in our house I want to find a great quilt rack to hang all of them from. The more quilts the better if you ask me. I still don't have one for our bed so I think that may end up first on the list.
It will be hard to resist not using the fat quarters in other projects though. You guys know how much I love a fat quarter! They are so handy to have around and fun to use for so many projects! Have you been sewing with Wanderer?
I've been patiently awaiting the release of Leah Duncan's new line Morning Walk. Leah is one of my favorite fabric designers. I always gravitate to her palette and her prints. I knew morning walk needed to be a quilt as well. I've already started getting this one prepped though! The prints shown below left are the first part of what I hope will be a new free tutorial for you guys!
Leah's prints are some of my faves to make clothing with as well. I made sure to order fat quarters of Morning Walk and also some pretty knit shown above to make myself a new top with. Now that the weather is warming I think it may end up a Wiksten Tank. One of my fave go to patterns to wear throughout the year. My other Wiksten's are worn out and I need to replace my stash. The Art Gallery knits are so lovely to wear and sew with so I can't wait to make a few new items for the summer with them. What summer patterns are you hoping to sew up this year?
The other fab prints I got were fat quarters from the new AGF line Maker and some of Maureen Cracknell's line Wild & Free. I see some new accessories in the works using these fun lines! I also got 2 prints from Wanderer in knit, as well as 1 in voile as well. I hope to make the Colette pattern Moneta, a Lane Raglan, and the voile is for a new summer dress - pattern undecided. I'm still on the hunt. They are going in the washing machine as we speak so I hope to get sewing some new additions to my wardrobe sooner than later.
