DONATION FOR FLOOD RELIEF
As many of you know I live in British Columbia, Canada which has recently been hit hard by severe flooding due to climate change. These "atmospheric rivers" caused immense damage to our province and communities have been hit very hard - a large amount of people have been evacuated from their homes and some may never be able to return. Landslides and erosion due to excessive water has severely damaged fuel and food supply lines which is amplifying the tragedy for many people province wide.
This year I will be donating 15% of all sale proceeds (equally dispersed) to the following charities - Food Banks BCand United Way BC. These charities will be providing aid with food, shelter, mental health, and the rebuilding of our province.
I thank you for your support of my business each year but also for your help towards donating to those in need in my province here in Canada - especially during a time that we are all struggling with the effects of so many health and climate crises. I sincerely appreciate every dollar you spend
Use code “HOLIDAY25” to save 25% off at all 3 places. Sale is valid until 12/11/21, midnight, PST.
*Sale excludes Rivulet & Kaffee and print books.
A NOTE

Today is my 40th bday :) I'm feeling both excited for what's to come and yet nostalgic for the time that's past. It's definitely a strange feeling and one that I've been spending a lot of time reflecting on during yoga and meditation. I don't want to feel sad or scared of my 40's - I want to own them. I want to show 40 who's boss...lol, and have a fabulous time enjoying being comfortable in my own skin and knowing my true self.
If you've been following along on social media and my newsletter you will have seen that my friend (and fellow knitwear designer) Andrea Rangel and I are getting each other motivated to build our handmade wardrobes by having a casual sew along/knit along called "Make My Wardrobe". We've got a plan to examine our current wardrobes and get making the pieces that are missing! I'm so excited! Our focus will be on pieces that compliment the clothes we already have, in particularly our lovely handmade pieces like hand knit sweaters and more. We plan to try to make the same sorts of things, but not always the same patterns and not always at the same pace.
Valentine's Day is today and you guys know what that means right?

I've been hit hard by a bad bug the last few days and have been stuck in bed sick. But it's been fun watching all the snow we've been having....and I'm super excited to share that I was recently interviewed by the lovely Felicia of The Sweet Georgia Show- one of my fave podcasts to listen to!Episode 44 is up today and I hope you will pop over to have a listen!
Interested to hear more about my creative journey and how I "attempt" to balance things? Pop on over to theStash Podcastto listen to my conversation with Sonia! I seriously had so much fun chatting with her and I hope you'll all enjoy it too!
My girls love dolls and so do I, so I was beyond excited when my lovely friend Kate ofSee Kate Sewannounced her new doll fabric was being released (by Riley Blake) and asked me to join in for the tour. The kids squealed and so did I! Both my girls and I were super happy when the fabric arrived to our house! I really love dolls made like this and couldn't wait to make them with the kids.
I love zippered pouches. I simply can't seem to have enough of them. So when I got asked to join in the Observer Fabric Tour by my lovely and oh, so talented friend April Rhodes, I knew I had to sew up Anna Graham's (of Noodlehead) new pattern for her Petal Pouches. First off, I'm absolutely 100% obsessed with April's new fabric line Observer. I always love her lines but oh boy does this one hit home for me. It's absolutely stunning! I sincerely love each print. And the fact that's it's Art Gallery Fabrics is icing on the cake. You all know how much I love me some AGF!
Over the last few months our first home underwent a kitchen reno. It's been a fun, sometimes stressful and very educational experience...lol. If you've ever renovated I'm sure you know what I mean. While l I haven't yet shared the finished renovation on the blog yet (I plan to in Sept) I have been having a wonderful time sourcing lovely accessories & decor items for our main floor. So when I got an email from my awesomely talented and sweet friend Dana of MADE EVERYDAY to join in on her Boardwalk Delight fabric blog party I just knew I HAD to have the Eat It All print all over! I mean c'mon people! Kitchen + black/white + eat it all = shannon needs! Lol! So instead of going out and buying some of my fave style of potholders I decided to sew some up and share the FREE PATTERN for my POCKET POTHOLDERS with you too!
Now that the weather has warmed up I'm seriously dying to sew up some new summer staples! I've been drooling over all the new patterns that have been popping up that are perfect for my warm weather wardrobe and for layering throughout the year!
Here's my faves that I've been eyeing! I've got 4 patterns ready to tape together and hopefully get sewn up this month (fingers crossed).
The weather may be warming up and summer on it's way, but I'm still loving flannel! I've had my eye on trying some of the Robert Kaufman Mammoth Flannel and when I got the chance to review the Mammoth Flannel Shirt Dress Kit on Craftsy I thought it would be a fun garment to sew up! I liked that this shirt dress had hem options and sleeve options - there is short sleeve, 3/4 length and sleeveless! I knew that this pattern would be versatile for year round wear and I could easily make this dress in a variety of fabrics.
It's time for another fun fabric giveaway! Enter below for a chance to win some of the new line Wildland by Miriam Bos for Birch Fabrics! I'm smitten with the Netherlands designers quirky and colorful collection! You can view all the prints in this 100% organic collection on Fabricworm HERE!
