I'm so excited that our first book review for 2016 is the stunningly gorgeous CAPSULE! The first book from Brooklyn Tweed, in collaboration with the talented designer Olga Buraya-Kefelian, is truly swoon worthy! In true Brooklyn Tweed style Capsule is definitely not short on quality and aesthetic. It's clean, modern and inspiring.
Capsule is inspired by the years Olga spent in "Japan and reflects her interest in texture and geometry. From dense cables to airy open lace, she explores the full range of possible fabrics that the woolen-spun Shelter and Loft yarns can create. The eight designs she has created for her CAPSULE are inventive modern garments that will bring a jolt of energy to your wardrobe".
Capsule is Brooklyn Tweed's first print knitting book. Brooklyn Tweed aims to have this new series give a designer the stage to present a whole fashion story told in Brooklyn Tweed wool and bound in a beautiful print book. Olga's garments and accessories are "distinctive and architectural, avant-garde yet always wearable" and I think they show off Shelter and Loft in a fabulous light. I love that each piece is a mini work of art.
Capsule is a 128-page book that features 8 original knitwear patterns designed by Olga Buraya-Kefelian. It also includes a glossary, special techniques used in each design and lovely photographic spreads of the collection. The books are printed in the USA at a press powered by 100% renewable energy. It's an FSC-certified publication which ensures that all paper fibers used in production are sourced from well-managed and responsibly harvested forests that meet strict environmental standards.

The creativity and inspiration behind the patterns. I love Olga's work and this book definitely showcases her at her best. Combined with Jared's eye for style I think Capsule pairs the BT brand and Olga's design aesthetic in a drool worthy print book. It is definitely a title that will be treasured on my bookshelf.
