That moment when you flip open a copy of Knit.Wear and see your book on Page 5 with Norah Gaughan!!!!! Seriously friends! Can we just say I about passed right out?! Pinch me now!!!! I must be dreaming!!
This is such a huge highlight in my career and one that means so much to Jane and myself. Being a small, independent publisher and seeing our book featured in a huge magazine was a moment that I'll never forget! I'm truly beyond thankful for all of your support of Within and all of our titles. It really does mean more than I can ever say - so thank you so much!

Unfortunately I had a very hard loss on Sunday. My grandmother, who was very close to me passed away. I was so ✨ blessed to grow up my whole life with her a few houses down. She was such an inspiration to me and inspired my love of sewing - it was her favourite thing to to do (besides gardening). As you can understand I’ve not been well and have been with family.
I was with my Nana for hours on Saturday at the hospital and was knitting up my swatch for the TTTKAL. At one point my nana needed me to help her with some things and I had put my knitting aside. After we were done she said to me “please keep knitting, I like it when you knit” and so I picked back up my needles. I remember looking up at her a few minutes later, and through all of her pain she had this big smile on her face. So my TTTKAL project will always hold a special place in my ❤ heart. She touched my yarn that day and she also touched my heart. Whenever I hold it I will see her smile.

How's she doing? She's doing great! She's been such a trooper and so very brave. How have I been doing? Well...to be honest....her injury was one of those moments in life that will forever be etched in my motherhood memories.

I'm taking some time this upcoming week for our summer vacay so things will be quiet around here but I promise I'll be back soon. We're all super excited for our much needed "staycation". I plan on getting in some much needed family time, getting to see friends from out of town, reading (and more reading), and all the other awesome things that come along with summer vacation!

I had a wonderful reminder recently of the importance of making handmade memories and how powerful they can truly be. My Omi, who is an avid knitter, loved to make Cowichan Sweaters, vests etc. We all had them when I was growing up - my parents, my Omi and Opa, my sisters and I, you name it - we wore it.
