I recently cast on for the oh so sweet Baa-ble Hat pattern. Be warned - once you start you won't be able to stop until you see those darn adorable sheep! Ever since this pattern first popped up I knew I had to find the time to make it before the end of the year. Sort of a holiday hat to myself.

See that bright pink cast? Yep - you guessed it, my oldest broke her arm - well her wrist to be exact. She's had a cast on since Oct. 1st, when she fell off the monkey bars at school and broke it. How's she doing? She's doing great! She's been such a trooper and so very brave. How have I been doing? Well...to be honest....her injury was one of those moments in life that will forever be etched in my motherhood memories.

I love knitting top down garments. October 2nd is just around the corner and that means it's almost time for one of my fave events of the year - KNIT CITY!!! Woot woot! Knit City takes place on Oct 2nd - 4th in gorgeous Vancouver, BC! This super fun and friendly event is always filled with great vendors, instructors/classes & lectures (Clara Parkes & the Yarn Harlot!! to name a few). I love color! Color can be such a fun & exciting way to show off & add your personality to your knitting! Pairing colors is such an adventure and I figured who better than to teach us for Summer Sweater Knit Along 2015 about color combinations, stripes & more than the lovely Julie Asselin herself! I swear when I think of Julie I see color! She's a bright, loving and energetic soul and I adore her!
One of the questions we get asked a lot by knitters is how do you knit from and read a chart. Knitting from charts can seem overwhelming at times but I promise it's a way that some knitters find faster and easier to work from. And when you are working with lace and cables for that special Summer Sweater Knit Along project a chart can be super helpful and necessary.

This summer has been so much fun & so special - I've been so blown away from all the love you have all shown my BRADWAY Shawl pattern! I'm taking some time this upcoming week for our summer vacay so things will be quiet around here but I promise I'll be back soon. We're all super excited for our much needed "staycation". I plan on getting in some much needed family time, getting to see friends from out of town, reading (and more reading), and all the other awesome things that come along with summer vacation!
