When it comes to knitters we love our notions, tools and accessories! One of my favourite places to indulge in new pretties is from Fringe Supply Co. - one of our Summer Sweater Knit Along sponsors this year!
I will openly admit I have a weakness for notebooks, journals and project bags. I can't get enough! Pair those with some fab stitch markers & holders, great scissors, and a new print for my office and you've got one happy knitter over here! The one place I love to indulge and treat myself is at Fringe Supply Co.
It's here!!! It's our Summer Sweater Knit Along Kick-Off Day!!! Get those needles ready! It's time to join in and get knitting a lovely garment during the summer months so you can wear it just in time for the fall/winter!
It's almost time for our favourite knit along of the year - the Summer Sweater Knit Along!!! Our SSKAL, as we call it, encourages knitters to keep on knitting garments (or try making their first one) throughout the summer months so they can sport their new handmade lovelies just in time for fall/winter!
Below are all the details you need to know to get ready for the launch of the Summer Sweater Knit Along next week! There's already a SSKAL pre-kal thread started in our Ravelry Group so feel free to chat patterns, swatches, yarns and more! I can't wait to see the amazingness you are all going to make this year!
I'm back from our road trip over to Washington and I'm super excited to show you the goodies I brought home with me! The shops we visited are all wonderful and special and I'm so happy to have been able to bring back with me some very yummy goodies!
I had such a wonderful time visiting these amazing shops! All the lovelies from this post were from Churchmouse Yarns & Teas, Tolt Yarn and Wool Shop and Dry Goods Design. If you are in the Seattle, WA area I highly recommend visiting all 3 shops! Each is special and inspiring in it's own unique way!
I love to knit & wear my handknits in the summer. So when the warm weather rolls around I'm all about still wearing my pretty shawls. Our newest pattern - BRADWAY, is all about summer. It's inspired by jean cut-offs, summer night strolls, camping, and lakeside relaxation with loved ones - BRADWAY is that warm, lazy feeling summer brings.
Textured twisted ribs & knit purl combos make for a modern rustic triangular shawl that’s a fun & relaxing knit. BRADWAY will be your shawl of choice for cool evenings around the campfire & lazy summer night strolls.
Think jean cut offs, lakeside, campfires, summer night strolls, and lazy weekends.....and you'll have our newest upcoming knitting pattern and mini knit-along!
Textured twisted ribs & knit purl combos make for a modern rustic triangular shawl that’s both a fun & relaxing knit. Our new pattern will be your shawl of choice for cool evenings around the campfire & lazy summer night strolls.
We'll be hosting a little mini-knit along over the next few weeks to celebrate the upcoming release of our newest knitting pattern! Watch for a special discount code & more fun next week!!
Are you all ready for our Tops, Tanks & Tees Knit Along STARRING YOU post? Yay! I love seeing your gorgeous projects all in one post! So inspiring! You guys rocked this year's KAL!
After going through all the finished project pictures I noticed a strong trend towards blues, teals and neutrals. It's always interesting to see what colors everyone chooses and which ones get used the most! Because of this I decided to showcase your projects below in some fun color groupings! You all look fabulous and so do your projects!!
I had a wonderful reminder recently of the importance of making handmade memories and how powerful they can truly be. My Omi, who is an avid knitter, loved to make Cowichan Sweaters, vests etc. We all had them when I was growing up - my parents, my Omi and Opa, my sisters and I, you name it - we wore it.
That time has come....our Tops, Tanks & Tees Knit Along Deadline is here. But who am I kidding...we never end on our deadlines...lol. We always vote to see if you would all like an extension.
So fill out the poll below and cast your vote if you'd like to extend the deadline to next week or not.
I'm so excited to have Meghan of Pom Pom Quarterly here today to chat with us all about choosing yarns for warm weather for our Tops, Tanks & Tees Knit Along! Pom Pom Quarterly is one of my favorite knitting mags! It's definitely a treat for any knitter! Pom Pom Mag is filled with fun patterns, great styling, articles and more! It's the type of mag you will keep for years to come! They are beautifully put together and I highly recommend them!
My favorite part of our knit alongs is the wonderful and amazing community of knitters who join in each year!
What makes knit alongs so fun? Community and frienships (both new & old). One thing I notice and treasure so much is the loving and kind group of knitters in our Ravelry group. You guys are always busily chatting away (I can hardly keep up..lol) and sharing, inspiring, helping, teaching and just enjoying knitting with each other virtually.
Ravelry is fun to use but can sometimes seem intimidating if you've never used it. Here's some tips below to get the most out of our knit along thread!
You guys, I'm beyond excited to announce that I'm today's guest on the WOOLFUL Podcast! Weeeeee!

It's such an honor to have been asked to be a guest and to be included among so many amazing and talented people! Seriously, I'm freaking out big time here...lol! I listen and re-listen to some of Ashley's podcasts because there is always such a wealth of wonderful information that I don't want to miss a thing. I love to sit at my computer with a cup of hot coffee and sit back and soak it in. So yah, I'm still happy dancing around my house like a dork - but hey, dorks rule;
Aside from being an awesome podcaster, Ashley has a great blog, a lovely mercantile (drool!) and is also one of the designers behind Little Woolens along with the lovely Annie Claire. If you don't follow her instagram feed it's a must. It's filled with inspiration, her families journey starting a fiber mill, and lots of other fun pics!
I hope you will all enjoy my chat with Ashley. I could have talked with her for hours. So grab yourself a hot cuppa, pull up a comfy seat and pop on over to WOOLFUL and give it a listen. You can also enter to win 5 PATTERNS of mine! Winner's choice! Comment on the Woolful blog to win!
A HUUUUGE thank you to Ashley for asking me to be a guest and for having such an inspiring and wonderful podcast! I hope we can chat again soon! I had so much fun!
You can find the WOOLFUL podcast HERE and also don't miss out on Ashely's gorgeous blog, and her rockin' shop below.

PS. My back injury that I posted about last week is unfortunately worse than we originally thought. It's going to be a longer recovery time and right now I'm supposed to sit as little as possible. This is making it really hard for me to be on the computer right now so it's going to be quiet on the blog front until next week. But I'm hoping to be back soon! I miss you guys!
Mother's Day is just around the corner and we've got some fun & quick projects that would make wonderful Mother's Day gifts for the special women in your life!
Whether you sew or knit, we think any of these would bring a smile to her face & hopefully to yours while you make it! Happy making for Mother's Day! Hopefully you'll find a great gift to make & give and while you're at it treat yourself to one too!
It's time for my favorite part of every one of our knit alongs - STARRING YOU! I love getting to show off all your hard work and lovelies on the blog! Check out some of the gorgeous projects that were made during our Gilmore Girls Knit Along this year!
When Hannah Fettig of Knitbot told me she was working on a new book a while back I have to admit I seriously did a happy jig. Hannah has been one of my favorite designers for years and her newest collection, Home & Away, definitely does not disappoint! This gorgeous new book, filled with 9 pieces that are everyday wearable & true to Hannah's clean aesthetic, is a must have for any knitters bookshelf.
Ok, first things first, you guys are amazing. The Gilmore Girls Knit Along has been such a fun surprise knit along. I've loved all the chit chat with so many of you who also love this show as much as I do. Gilmore Girls and the Lorelai Shawl will always have a special little place in my heart.
